Valerie has the perfect personality for helping people that are looking for care for their loved ones. She is so patient and knowledgeable. She went with me to every place that I wanted to check out. She was very encouraging, knowledgeable, and positive. She is extremely organized and very supportive. She helped me with any questions I had along the way from the beginning of the process to the very end of getting my mom settled and into a place that I feel very very confident about. I highly recommend this company.

No, there is no contract, and this is a free service. Please note that we do need to be the first point of contact for senior living communities.

The following are typically included in the monthly rental: three meals per day plus snacks, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, activities, transportation to medical appointments, and some utilities. Cable and internet may be extra or are sometimes included.

Please note that personal care may be at an additional cost unless you have an all-inclusive rate. The care that is provided is different for each individual based on needs.

Assisted living is a more home-like environment. Residents have their own unfurnished apartments in an assisted living community. Care is available to help residents live as independently as possible.

A nursing home is typically for someone with more advanced care needs and/or poor mobility. For instance, in assisted living, residents must be able to stand, pivot, and bear weight.

If a resident is non-weight-bearing, they would need a lift to help with transfers.

Activities of daily living (ADLs) include personal hygiene (bathing, grooming), transferring (getting in and out of bed, chair), dressing (total assistance or putting on socks, etc.), toileting, eating, continence, and ambulating.

Most assisted living options are private pay. Long-term care insurance will cover assisted living if certain requirements are met. There are also veterans’ benefits that can help if the requirements are met. We can help explore all possible means of payment.

Many residents with memory loss can live in assisted living. A time may come when they need secure memory care. Some things that make memory care necessary are wandering or elopement. Sundowning, more confusion in the evening, may also make memory care the better option. Many times the smaller setting and staff training in memory care help preserve your loved one’s dignity.
